Rosmarinic acid is a kind of water-soluble natural phenolic acid isolated from rosemary, which is widely distributed in Labiatae, arnebiaceae, Cucurbitaceae, Tiliaceae and Umbelliferae, especially in Labiatae and arnebiaceae.

Function:

Scavenging and antioxidation of free radicals: rosmarinic acid has strong scavenging activity and antioxidation.

Rosmarinic acid can inhibit nephritis.

Rosmarinic acid also had inhibitory effect on plant pathogenic fungi, especially on Botrytis cinerea, Botrytis cinerea, Penicillium citri and Alternaria piricola

Antiallergic activity: it can obviously inhibit skin allergic reaction by improving cytokines, chemical factors and allergen specific antibodies.

Liver protection: rosmarinic acid can reduce the level of peroxides in liver, such as the content of glutathione disulfide and lipid peroxide. It can also increase the synthesis of glutamylcysteine in liver, so it can protect liver injury and lipid peroxidation caused by peroxides.

Anti ultraviolet effect: it can reduce the content of free radicals caused by ultraviolet, and also reduce the damage of DNA caused by ultraviolet.
