Citrus aurantium extract( Citrus aurantium L.) is extracted from citrus aurantium. Citrus aurantium, a plant of rue family, is widely distributed in China. In traditional Chinese medicine, it is a traditional folk herb used to increase appetite and regulate qi (energy). The active ingredient is hesperidin and it’s light yellow fine powder with slight smell. Slightly soluble in methanol and hot glacial acetic acid, almost insoluble in acetone, benzene and chloroform, but easily soluble in dilute alkali and pyridine. Hesperidin is used in the food industry as a natural antioxidant and can also be used in the cosmetic industry.
